Warning:
This book will contain explicit language, the threat of violence from a trigger-happy father, and sexy times (sometimes in public). It also has a heroine who is learning how to be confident in her sexuality and embrace who she wants to be.
And though maybe not “triggering” here is an additional reminder:
Within this story, you will encounter elements that stretch the boundaries of reality. Now, sure, many romances do that. How many Billionaire, Cowboy, Greek-typhoon, Hockey-playing, Second-chance, Meet-cute, Alpha, Best Friend, Cinnamon roll Heroes are out there anyway? As readers, we generally know that we have to suspend disbelief to enjoy these types of romance stories.
Even so, in this book, I’m asking you to not scrutinize the ‘hows’ of Ashley’s circumstances.
The acceptance of Ashley’s entire situation—her attitude/thoughts, education, language proficiency, successful evasion of media detection, ability to live alone in a foreign country, etc—is crucial to enjoying the story. You’ll need to accept that some compromises were made to allow her scenario to unfold.
Therefore, some things will be inaccurate or far-fetched: the nuances of foreign policy, the intricacies of running a fictional foreign country, the plausibility of a princess being allowed to leave her patriarchal homeland, etc.
While I strive for accuracy by researching, collaborating, and consulting professionals, sometimes storytelling takes precedence over strict realism. There are no magic spells, fairies, or unicorns in the book—you don’t have to suspend your disbelief THAT much. 🙂 But you must accept the fictional setup and be open to the notion that certain plot elements were feasible and unfolded beforehand to render it all ‘possible’.
If any of these are triggering for you – here is your warning to maybe avoid this book. Regardless, I promise there will be an HEA.
This book is a work of my imagination, and any mistakes are entirely my own.
As always, a big thank you to my editor and proofreader.
